About Hermit's Cove

Hermit's Cove is a peaceful coastal hideaway in Aloguinsan, Cebu, known for its clear blue waters, white-sand shoreline, and tranquil surroundings. Away from Cebu's busier beaches, it is a great spot for swimming, relaxing, photography, and enjoying the countryside. The scenic drive to the cove also makes it a rewarding destination for motorcycle riders and road-trip travelers.

What to expect

Hermit's Cove is a small managed beach tucked below the cliffs in Aloguinsan on the quiet west coast — fine sand, clear blue water, and a calm, contained feel well away from Cebu's busier shores. It is a swim-and-relax spot: a few hours in the water, a picnic, photos, and the countryside around it. Getting in is part of the story. The last stretch is a steep, narrow cliff-edge road, about twenty minutes of careful driving, and for riders working through west Cebu that descent is half the reason to come.

Editorial review

It’s a long walk down to Hermit’s Cove — and, of course, back up again. 😄 But the scenery makes the effort worth it.

Know before you go

Entrance is around ₱100 per person and it is open roughly 6am to 6pm; day use only, no overnight stay. From Cebu City it is a drive west via Toledo and Aloguinsan town, then a signed local road toward Barangay Kantabogon — the final approach is steep and narrow, so take it slowly, especially after rain. The drier months (November to May) are the better window. It pairs well with the Bojo River tour, also in Aloguinsan.
