About CCLEX Bridge

The Cebu–Cordova Link Expressway, universally known as CCLEX, is an 8.9-kilometer cable-stayed toll bridge linking the South Road Properties in Cebu City with Cordova on Mactan Island — the longest bridge in the Philippines and, since opening in 2022, one of the most recognizable structures in the province. Its two pylons rise 145 meters above the channel and are topped with crosses, a nod to Cebu's place as the birthplace of Christianity in the country, and they are lit at night in a way that makes the bridge a landmark from both shorelines. The four-lane crossing carries open views across the Cebu Strait toward Mactan, the Cebu City skyline and the mountains behind it. For most visitors CCLEX is experienced as a drive rather than a destination: it is a toll expressway, with cars and motorcycles charged around ₱90, and stopping on the bridge is not permitted, so photographs are usually taken from viewpoints on either approach or from the water. CCLEX is one of the best scenic drives in metro Cebu for travelers seeking modern architecture, sea views, and the fastest route between Cebu City and Mactan's southern coast.

What to expect

CCLEX — the Cebu–Cordova Link Expressway — is an 8.9-kilometre cable-stayed toll bridge from the South Road Properties across to Cordova on Mactan, the longest bridge in the Philippines and, since 2022, one of the province's landmarks. Its two 145-metre pylons are topped with crosses and lit at night, and the four-lane deck carries open views across the Cebu Strait toward Mactan, the city skyline and the mountains. For most visitors it is experienced as a drive rather than a destination: it is a toll expressway, stopping on the bridge is not allowed, so photos are taken from viewpoints on either approach or from the water.

Editorial review

One of my road-trip destinations, CCLEX is also open to joggers, offering a unique route with views of the Cebu–Mactan Channel.
