About Tingko Beach

Tingko Beach is one of Alcoy's most popular coastal destinations in South Cebu, known for its powdery white sand, clear blue water, and long curved shoreline. The beach creates a scenic tropical setting with coconut trees, calm coastal views, and a small reef area offshore. It is a great place for swimming, snorkeling, relaxing by the sea, and watching the sunset. With its beautiful shoreline and easy access along Cebu's eastern coastal road, Tingko Beach is also a rewarding stop for motorcycle riders and road-trip travelers.

What to expect

Tingko is a long, gently curved beach on Alcoy's east coast — powdery white sand, clear shallow water, a fringe of coconut palms, and a small reef offshore for a light snorkel. It is a relaxed swim-and-sunset beach rather than a resort strip, and the shoreline is split into a few sections: a public beach, a couple of numbered beach areas, and Voda Krasna resort. Vendors sell drinks and grill barbecue, and there are tables and chairs to rent, so a group can settle in for the day without bringing much. Early morning is quietest; late afternoon is for the light and the sunset.

Editorial review

Another all-time favorite of mine! It's a public beach, so you can just drop by and pop in for a swim whenever you feel like it.

Know before you go

Fees depend on which entrance you use: the public beach is a token ₱10 or so per person, while the numbered Tingko Beach 1 and 2 areas charge around ₱50; it is open roughly 6am to 6pm. It is about a 3-hour drive south from Cebu City on the Cebu South Road through Carcar, Argao and Dalaguete, or a south-bound bus toward Alcoy. The drier months, December to May, give the best sea conditions.
