About Cambais Falls

Nestled in the lush, jungle-covered hills of Alegria in South Cebu, Cambais Falls is a stunning multi-tiered waterfall complex known for its milky turquoise pools. Less commercialized than neighboring giant Kawasan, this natural attraction offers a serene tropical setting framed by limestone cliffs, wild ferns, and overhanging trees. It is an ideal getaway for travelers seeking a quieter, immersive nature experience without sacrificing clear waters and natural charm.

What to expect

Visitors arrive via a scenic 15-to-20-minute trail through farmland and riverbank pathways to reach the entrance. The site opens up into a large lower swimming hole fed by gentle cascades flowing down mossy limestone walls. Here, swimmers can float in cool, sky-blue waters, explore shallow caves, or leap from natural rock platforms. Adventurers who choose to go higher can climb up to the second level using fixed ropes and bamboo ladders. The upper tier features a more secluded pool surrounded by dense forest, complete with cliff-jumping spots ranging from roughly 5 to 10 meters high. A typical visit takes around two to three hours, making it perfect for independent travelers, couples, and small groups looking to relax or jump off high ledges.

Know before you go

Entrance fees are around ₱50 per person, and safety equipment like life vests may be requested locally. Local guides are available near the registration point for an optional fee or tip, which is recommended if you plan to navigate the upper tier. Operating hours are typically around 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, though verify locally prior to departure. The trail can get muddy and slippery during the rainy season, so bring sturdy aqua shoes or water sandals. Pack waterproof bags for electronics and carry out all trash as waste facilities are limited.
