Cebu South Bus Terminal to Moalboal, Badian & Ginatilan: West Coast Buses

One road serves the whole west coast. Buses marked Bato via Barili leave the South Bus Terminal, cut across to the coast at Carcar and Barili, and run south through Moalboal, Badian and Ginatilan — so whichever of them you want, you ride the same bus and tell the conductor where to get off.

Ceres Liner Bato via Barili
The main line, with aircon and ordinary buses and departures through the day. Ceres also runs Bato via Oslob, which takes the other coast and never reaches Moalboal, so confirm via Barili with the conductor.

Metrolink Express Liner Bato via Barili
Runs the same road and the same stops to Bato.
Bus operators and departure times change without notice. Fares are set by the operator and worked out by the conductor, so confirm yours when you board.
Private car, van or Grab
Private cars with a driver, shared vans (V-hire) and Grab cover the same road. Prices are negotiated and depend on the vehicle, the distance and the season, so ask for a quote before you commit — unlike a bus, there is no fixed fare.
Moalboal
Buses do not go down to the water. You are set down on the national highway in town, at the stop by the Jollibee across from the municipal hall, and Panagsama Beach — where the dive shops and the sardine run are — is a further three kilometres downhill, with White Beach a little further north. Tricycles and habal-habal wait at the stop; agree the fare first.
Most Panagsama resorts will arrange a pick-up from the highway stop if you message them your arrival time. Southern Cebu covers what is along this road, and the southern Cebu itinerary shows how Moalboal fits with Badian and Oslob.
Badian and Kawasan Falls
For Kawasan Falls tell the conductor Matutinao, in Badian. The trail to the falls starts beside the church, about a 15-minute walk upstream. Canyoneering operators collect from Cebu City and Moalboal before dawn; the bus is the independent alternative.
Buses to Badian and Bato pass through Moalboal first, so a night in Moalboal and a morning at the falls is the same bus each way.
Ginatilan and Inambakan Falls
Stay on the bus past Badian and get off in Ginatilan town. A habal-habal covers the last four kilometres inland to Inambakan Falls in about 15 minutes. Riders normally quote the round trip, so agree it before you set off and ask them to wait.
Start early: the last northbound buses through the small towns leave well before the southbound service stops running.
Coming back
Every bus on this road runs back to the South Bus Terminal. There is no terminal in the towns: northbound buses are flagged down at the highway stop and pull in if there is room. Do not plan on a late-evening return.
If you fly out the same day, allow for the terminal to airport leg too — airport to Cebu City and back covers it.
